Coco Fine - Solid 9ct Gold Sapphire & Ruby Ring
The Coco Fine Ring is created by embedding gemstones into a wax mould, when the mould is cast the gemstones are held in place and the molten metal is poured around them trapping them as it cools. It creates an organic, textured style where the gems look like they were found in the metal and makes every piece subtly unique.
As this technique requires the gemstones to withstand high temperatures only certain types can be used. This version of the Coco ring style uses the best quality stones to achieve a decadent cast-in-place design. Sri Lankan Sapphires, along with Lab-grown* Diamonds & Rubies are cast in solid 9ct Gold.
'Coco' - Not at all a reference to coconuts or chocolate... instead the Latin word "coco" is a verb that means "to cook" or "to bake". To create our Coco Ring the gemstones have been 'baked' into the metal as part of the casting process.
*Diamonds, Sapphires & Rubies are the most precious gemstones that can withstand the heat of molten Silver & Gold and whilst in this piece we use Lab-grown Diamonds & Rubies as more affordable and sustainably equivalents to their atomically identical counterparts, the option to include natural gemstones is available upon request.
